A city centre employer has a huge balcony to take advantage of when it gets a bit balmy.

Domestic and General, which employs 800 people near Churchill Square, Brighton, has a number of events planned over the summer.

Next Friday staff can enjoy free ice cream from a van parked outside the office.

And in August the company will throw a summer BBQ from its large third-floor balcony.

Dress-down days have been extended until September.

HR Manager Nicki Perry said: "It's fantastic we're experiencing such warm weather, living in the UK it's not something we get to say too often. To help our employees make the most of it, we've put on a number of outdoor events and have come up with a few ways of saying thank you for their hard work.

"As a company that prides itself on excellent customer service, we appreciate the importance in keeping our people happy. Having a break in the sun is a great way to boost vitamin D levels, enhancing mood and overall wellbeing, so for us it's win-win."
