Travellers have set up camp at Black Rock in Brighton.

More than a dozen vehicles have stopped on the side of the road by the marina bridge.

It is believed they arrived late last night (Wednesday).

Brighton and Hove City Council's website says: "Unauthorised encampment of Travellers and Gypsies on land at Black Rock - we will be visiting this site with the police as soon as possible to carry out a community impact assessment to determine the most appropriate course of action."

There are further reports travellers have also arrived at Woodingdean Lawn Cemetery.

The councils said travellers at Sheepcote Valley would be evicted today after it secured a posession order in court yesterday (Wednesday).
