STREETS will be lined with scarecrows as a popular annual competition returns.

The search is on for competitors for the annual Woodingdean scarecrow competition, which will be held between September 22 and 26.

Competitors will have to create a scarecrow with a Commonwealth theme and participants are being encouraged to use recycled materials.

The entrants will be judged by The Argus columnist Adam Trimingham.
