An 87-year-old who died after being hit by a car has been named as Eileen Scott.

She was hit by a silver Ford Focus estate on July 31 near the crossing close to the junction of the B2223 Dominion Road and Southdown View Road, Worthing.

The 87-year-old, who lived in nearby Dominion Road, Worthing, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where she died on Saturday evening (August 2).

Police are investigating the incdietn and want to speak to the driver of a silver or light blue Peugeot 206CC, who was behind the Ford Focus.

A 51-year-old man from Hurstpierpoint was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed until October 23.
