I was extremely shocked to read that the building of the i360 has already begun.

This proves to me two things: 1: The council have the power to push plans through quickly if it is something they want.

2: They will loan ridiculous amounts of money.

So why did this not happen with the black rock arena? The council claimed to love the idea.

The SS arena (home to the legendary Brighton Tigers ice hockey team) was closed down by the council, leaving the team without a home rink.

Then years later the council refused to support Sussex Ice rink in Queens Square when it was in need of repairs, forcing it to close down so that they could make money selling the land for a hotel.

You owe us an ice rink Brighton and Hove City Council.
