A group of dancers took people back to the past to help promote a charity's sponsored walk.

Led by the Brighton Lindyhoppers, the team performed a series of Charleston-style dance moves on Hove Lawns yesterday.

The impromptu event was designed to encourage people to sign up to Alzheimer’s Society’s Brighton and Hove Memory Walk, which will take place in the same location on October 4.

The group showed people a fun routine they could do while making their way around the walk.

Group leader Amanda Walderman said: “I have seen first-hand the effect dementia can have and that’s why I think events like Memory Walk are so important.

“We wanted to have a bit of a laugh by showing you can walk the Memory Walk in any way you want.

People signing up can choose either a 2km or 8km route.
