Despite a sunny start the rest of today promises to be unsettled with the threat of thunder and strong winds.
The Met Office is forecasting the dry weather will not last as showers developing in the west spread eastwards throughout Sussex - with some turning thundery later.
Strong winds developing near the coast will blow their way inland with gusts of up to 40mph predicted - leading to cooler and fresher temperatures.
No severe weather warnings are in place.
