SCORES of dog owners and their pets braved the weather for the first day of an annual festival.
Rural day at St Ann's Well Garden, in Hove, included a Scruffs dog show featuring pets of all shapes and sizes.
There was also a range of activities and crafts.
The event was part of the Brunswick Festival, which celebrates the area’s diverse community.
Other attractions included conservation stalls, a brass band, puppet shows and food stalls and home bakes.
The fun continues this Saturday and Sunday with a two-day celebration at Brunswick Square in Hove.
This will feature live music, DJs, dance groups, circus skills, activities and a healing area.
There will also be a market area with bric-a-brac, home made goods, vintage clothes and charity information stands.
The festival has grown over the years from being a low key picnic on the green to encompassing two weekends of outdoor events.
