A HEALTH communications team took on the ultimate challenge by walking 40 miles through the night along the South Downs.

Consultancy Pegasus, based in Brighton, took on The Sussex Plod, a charitable walk for Action Medical Research.

The 40-mile challenge began at midnight at Devil’s Dyke.

Eight walkers split into two teams trekked all the way to Beachy Head and arrived the following afternoon at 12.42pm and 1.31pm – coming third and sixth out of 25 teams.

The Pegasus team named Scrambled Legs is on track to raise £3,000 through a car boot sale, pub quiz, bake-off and client donations. Action Medical Research, based in Horsham, was previously The National Fund for Research into Crippling Diseases, and focuses on funding research to prevent and treat disease and disability in babies and children. Pegasus managing director, Lisa Bradley, said: “I’m so proud of the team who signed up to this challenge and in aid of such a worthy charity – walking 40 miles is no mean feat.

“The fact that they placed so high when they finished is a testament to how hard they worked preparing for the event.”
