A 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a stranger as she walked down the street.
A man came up behind her at 8pm on July 25 and smacked her on the bottom. Police made the incident public yesterday.
The man ran away but police tracked him down based on facts provided by the victim.
The incident happened on Ashdown Road in Bexhill close to a footpath near Galley Hill View. A 24-year-old man from Bexhill was held on suspicion of sexual assault, quizzed and freed on bail until August 26.
