A NEW breeze is cooling young hospital patients after specialist fans were donated to a children’s ward.
Businessman Andy Sparsis presented Worthing Hospital with five desk fans worth £1,000 for the hot weather.
Mr Sparsis, who owns The Fish Factory and The Food Restaurant in Worthing, is a patron of the Love Your Hospitals charity, which supports Worthing, Southlands Hospital in Shoreham and St Richard’s in Chichester.
Bluefin children’s ward manager, Rebecca Holcroft, said: “Children often come in with a very high temperature and they just want to feel cool.
“So to have the fans will make such a difference.”
Mr Sparsis said: “We’ve got some of the best hospitals in the world, not just in the UK, and I think local business has a big role in supporting them and the children.”
The charity welcomes sponsors. Email Nicola. godwin@wsht.nhs.uk, call 07825 256293 or visit www.loveyourhospital.org.
