A TASTE of the high seas hit the Sussex coast when pirates and smugglers held a special celebration.
Skull and crossbones, eye patches, wooden legs and pirate hats were the order the day for the Little Smugglers children's procession in Rottingdean.
The event on Saturday was organised by Rottingdean Smugglers, a group set up to celebrate and promote the village's shady historical past.
Children of all ages came out in force for the event, which also included a wide range of stalls, games and activities.
Youngsters were able to create their very own pirate boat or creature from the deep and a prize was given for the best dressed little smugglers.
Live music was provided throughout the afternoon by Earthquake, Skulldrummery, Captains Beard and Jennie Castell.
