Brighton and Hove Cricket Club’s under-13s beat Chichester Priory Park in the Sussex Junior Cricket Festival despite a Henry Condron century.

Chichester’s Condron sparkled in the first innings at Priory Park with his 102 not out, but Brighton and Hove saw off the target of 176 with ease.

Sam Scott was bowled by Alfie Harrison for 21. Matthew Lee followed his opener back to the pavilion for a duck, caught by Felix Sheppard off the bowling of Harrison.

Joseph Phizackerley added eight falling to Sheppard and Luke Hotchkiss was bowled for 0.

Jonathan Trotman was run out for a duck, and this brought Felix Talbot to the crease.

He scored 26 not out as he and Lee called his team in at the end of the 34th over.

Sheppard was caught and bowled by Phizackerley and Harrison’s shot found the same pair of safe hands this time off the bowling of Talbot.

When Whippey was run out by Talbot, Callum Davies and Daniel Asad were united at the crease.

Lee got through nine bowlers.

Davies finished 46 not out and Asad 15 not out as Brighton and Hove reached 176-3 from 30 overs.
