Polling boss backs Lucas to keep seat

First published in News

A leading polling expert has given his backing to the country’s only Green MP to retain her seat at the next election.

Peter Kellner, president of the YouGov polling company, has predicted that Caroline Lucas will avert a Labour gain in Brighton Pavilion and successfully defend her 1,252 majority.

Bookies currently have Ms Lucas and her Labour rival Purna Sen neck-and-neck, while a constituency poll by Tory strategist Lord Ashcroft in July similarly had the pair in a close-run finish.

Adam McGibbon, national Green Party general election campaign manager, said the party was not “taking anything for granted” but that Mr Kellner’s backing was “encouraging”.

Really hope the polling person is wrong. Greens have been a disaster for our lovely city. Ms Lucas seems mainly interested in being high profile on matters that do not effect our city. Attention seeker to further her own career.

Awful MP.

Not according to a recent Green party private poll. According to that, Matron Lucas will have lashings of time to spend with her growing property portfolio. Thank goodness.

Better green than Labour I guess. Anything is better than the Labour liars, but it is a close call.

Seems a lot of people don't agree with you. In fact a lot of those voting for Lucas and Green councillors wanted what you would call damage such as good quality bus and cycle lanes, more pedestrianisation, a thriving economy.

Its great having more Bus Lanes so we all use Public Transport and NOT
those Nasty Cars , The Problem now being that the Buses and Cabs must NOT exceed 20mph !!
Ask any Hotelier and other Brighton & Hove Business owner Just how the Greens Increase in Parking Charges have decreased their Trade.
Just a few other matters such as below:

Problems with the Rubbish and Recycling Collections.
When is the Seafront Sinkhole going to be Repaired, or is this a New
Visitor Attraction ?

More green-speak spin from a loathesome watermelon claiming that the greens have actually done some real good for the city.

Good old Lucas with her focus on pro-drugs (with Russell Brand!!!), pro-feminism (with her T-shirt!!!), anti-war and sitting in the road at Balcombe. We really need the ant-greens to vote next May!

Remember the green c*ck-ups - the rubbish strikes, the unused cycle lanes (esp. the OSR fiasco), the increased emissions, increased congestion, reduced recycling levels, the gender neutral toilets, the almost totally ignored 20mph limits, the reoads crumbling whilst Davey paints in cycle lanes that the cyclist don't use.

And now they even try to claim that they have helped the economy - which is more likely to be in spite of the greens. As usual they are claiming the glory for any improvements and passing the blame on to everyone else.

What a loathsome group of irresponsible, incompetent, idealogical lunatics.

Joke for the day: Man goes into a restaurant and says 'Please can I have a pigs-head green-party style'. The waiter says 'what that?'. The man replies 'Hold the brains!'.
