POLICE have issued a warning after the ice bucket challenge knocked a Shoreham teenager off his motorbike.

The 19-year-old was riding his red Kawasaki bike in Williams Road, Shoreham, on Wednesday, at around 7.40pm, when his friend threw a bucket of icy water over him.

He came off his bike and suffered minor cuts and bruises to his hands and arm, Sussex Police have said.

Sergeant Stewart Goodwin said: “The ice bucket challenge is currently sweeping the world and it is for very good causes.

“However we ask that if people are going to complete it, they need to do so sensibly and safely. It was not a good idea to do it while he was trying to ride the bike.

"Luckily, he received only some minor cuts but he could have received much worse injuries.”

Good tip Sergeant Stewart Goodwin. Thanks.

Also if you do the ice bucket challenge on the road on a bike, then people can't see what your back garden looks like on the video, which for nosey people like me is the best part!

Even funnier if it wasn't pre-arranged.

The whole ice bucket thing is ridiculously chavvy and I am fairly certain this idiot on his uninsured scooter has donated nothing to charity in his life.

Why can't people just give to charity instead of subjecteing themselves to a stupid prank.

It has raised zero awareness because people do it for whatever charity they want. But most of all, they do it for themselves so they can go on facebook and youtube and say look at me, aren't i cool? And the hapless birds can scream and show their erect noorks!!.

Rant over.

Miserable sod.

It's raising money for charity that wouldn't otherwise have been raised. Who cares if people are also using it as an excuse to show off on facebook? People are having fun and raising money at the same time. I'm surprised that you didn't also use the pathetically lame argument that people are wasting water (which some people have).

I bet you've got your shed stuffed full of footballs that kids have kicked over your fence..........

Kawasaki doesn't do scooters. That just sounds like a stereo typical jab st bikers. All bikers are, are people that go one step closer to danger for the thrill of freedom, living outside the confined box of society. And some are more educated than you think. And this biker I can vouch for. At least they tried going a step further for charity.

Agreed. And whilst everyone's feeling smug and generous, the NHS goes down the pan rapidly through lack of funds.
