A man whose body was found washed up on Brighton beach has been named.

Sussex Police announced today the man has been identified as Geoffrey Keen, 84, of Sussex Street, Brighton.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious and it has been left with the coroner.

The body was discovered on August 31 at 9.25am by a member of the public.

The beach was cordoned off and police moved quickly to remove the body before the high tide.

Yes actually it does make a difference IT'S THE JOB THEY DO ! Like the job or not they should take pride in the work they do , especially on such a sad story ! .

U ppl are so shortsighted. No one really cares what happened, all u care is how correct argus is. I actually knew this man. And he was a kind, loving person, who will always think of someone else instead of him. I still cant believe this happened, but i will always remember Geff as one of the people who made me believe that there is so much more in the world than i have now. X
