Theft is an unpleasant experience but when it involves a charity it makes the crime even more distasteful.

Community Transport for the Lewes Area provides a vital lifeline to elderly and vulnerable people who cannot use public transport and need it to get out and about.

A recent theft at the charity’s base has meant two of its fleet of vehicles are out of action, putting an extra strain on the charity in terms of unexpected extra costs and demand for its services.

In the current financial climate no charity can afford to have incidents like this happen and it is hoped the people behind the break-in are tracked down.

The charity provides a valuable and much needed service and it is important that it is able to have its full fleet of vehicles out and about as quickly as possible.
