Tickets for the Rugby World Cup 2015 go on sale today – with two matches due to take place at the American Express Community Staduim.

The tournament takes place between September 18 and October 31 next year.

South Africa and Japan go head to head on September 19 in a Pool B match at the Amex stadium.

Kick-off is at 4.45pm and prices range from £20 to £85. Tickets for children cost £15. On September 20, Samoa take on the USA at noon. Tickets cost between £15 and £60 with children’s tickets at £7.

Rugby fans can apply for tickets to any of the 48 matches in the competition until September 29.

Information published on the Rugby World Cup website said: “This will not be a first come, first served sale, so there is no advantage to be gained by applying on the first day rather than the last.

“Where matches are oversubscribed we will run a ballot by match, and by price category, so that all tickets are fairly allocated.

“We will ballot starting from the most oversubscribed match down to the least oversubscribed match to ensure that everyone who applies has the best possible opportunity to be successful.

“When selecting a match, you can tell us if you have an accessibility requirement and if you require a wheelchair space you will receive a complimentary personal assistant seat.”

The organisation has also urged people to consider an optional donation to its official charity, the UN World Food Programme Tackle Hunger, when signing up for tickets.

Brighton College was selected as one of 41 bases to host the Japanese team in next year’s tournament.

The Eastern Road college will provide the outdoor pitch and indoor training venue for the team as well as a gym.
