WITH less than 100 days until Christmas, tickets for the famous ice rink in the Pavilion Gardens have gone on sale.

The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink will this year be celebrating its fifth birthday as the winter wonderland returns to central Brighton.

The 800 square metre ice rink will be set up from November 8 to January 18 alongside a bar and kitchen.

Shella Parkin, managing director of Laine Ltd which runs the rink, said this year is “really special”.

She said: “We are so grateful the city of Brighton and Hove has taken the rink so much to heart as a Christmas tradition and look forward to welcoming all our lovely customers back again for this winter season.”

To mark the occasion the ice rink team have also launched a woolly hat knitting competition with North Laine based knitting expert Peter Allison acting as one of the judges.

Anyone interested in taking part should submit a photo of their creation to facebook.com/pavilionicerink by October 17 for the chance to win prizes such as skating season tickets and dinner for two at the rink’s kitchen.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £7 for children under 12, and can be purchased from ticketmaster.co.uk/royal-pavilion-ice-rink
