SUPERHERO skydiver John Waters is flying high after helping to raise more than £800 for charity.
Mr Waters took the plunge and completed his first ever tandem parachute jump for St John Ambulance.
The 61-year-old, a former special constable, started volunteering with the charity five years ago after taking part in a three hour first aid course.
He now helps out at the Horsham adult unit and is a youth leader with the Southwick cadet unit.
Mr Waters, of West Grinstead, near Horsham, said: “Jumping out of a plane was a totally exhilarating experience and knowing I have raised money to support the life saving work of St John Ambulance is incredibly satisfying too.”
The money will go towards the first aid charity’s vital life-saving work.
After his parachute jump in Kent people can donate to Mr Waters’ fundraising page at www.doitforcharity.com/JonathanWaters.
Mr Waters will be joined by other St John Ambulance volunteers for a flag day collection in Horsham town centre on Saturday.
