All credit to Seaford town councillor Sarah McStravick who, when announcing that she had left her political party to stand independently, asserted that “at parish level party politics is not needed”.
Indeed, with turnouts for most elections – UK and European parliaments, county, borough, police commissioners etc – at abysmally low levels, it is clear that many in Sussex are fed up to the teeth with party politics.
