A PILE of rubbish burst into flames in a residential street last night. 1/10

Fire fighters were called to Tudor Avenue in Hastings shortly after 10pm to put out the blaze which they extinguished in ten minutes.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Meanwhile East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to two reports of bonfires out of control.

The first was in Hailsham at 8.15pm and the second was shortly before midnight in Hastings. A spokesman for the service said both were false alarms as they were controlled fires.
