We were delighted to be asked by Colin Barton, on behalf of the Sussex ME Society, to work together with him and the Association for Young People with ME to deliver what looks to be an interesting event at Hove Town Hall on October 7, combining research and practice.

As an organisation, we feel it is important to not be London- centric with our events so it is a real opportunity for us to connect with people living in the area.

It feels like an exciting time for research in the ME field and to bring this together with the practice from experts like Dr Gabrielle Murphy, Dr Zoe Gotts and Dr Keith Hine will offer insight for us all.

Personally, I look forward to meeting Sussex participants and to hear people’s views on the issues we should be tackling.

We have been through some changes over the last couple of years at Action for ME and hope that people have had a chance to read our plans for the future.

But there is so much to do and taking the time to listen remains central to our work so I hope that people will join us and spend some time with me and my colleagues during the afternoon.

Tickets cost £5 from Sussex ME Society, PO Box 309, Brighton BN50 9FR.
