A family of five is in hospital after a house fire raged through a property in the early hours of this morning.

Two adults and three children, who had to be rescued by firefighters, were taken to hospital as officers battled the blaze at their home.

Six engines were sent to a house in Box Grove off The Strand in Goring at 5.20am and were faced with a ground floor fire.

It took the firefighters 50 minutes to extinguish the flames which destroyed 20% of the ground floor.

The rest of the house was damaged by smoke and heat.

An investigation is currently being carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
