A MAN who was found cold and wet in a “despondent” mood by emergency services this morning had left a suicidal note at the hostel in which he was staying.
A Brighton lifeboat crew was called to a strip of beach east of the Palace Pier at about 5.20am, where a pile of clothes had been left on the shore.
Police were already on the scene and soon afterwards found a man in a blue wet suit.
The 24-year-old was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital at 6am and detained under the Mental Health Act for his own safety.
