AN artists’ event drew attention to eating disorders.

The Pantry Project saw people making portraits with food and create an installation with films and photography.

The project and exhibition was set up in Draw Studios in New England House, Brighton, to coincide with World Mental Health Day.

It took place last Thursday and Friday, October 9 and 10.

It was devised in response to the numbers of young people in Britain suffering from eating disorders and body dysmorphia.

A body dysmorphic disorder involves the person affected being under the delusion that their body is unusually defective or misshapen. The Pantry Project offered places to 16 young people to develop their CVs and gain a nationally-recognised arts award.

Called A Place At The Table, the installation took inspiration from food, feelings about food, eating together and body image.
