I attended the full event put on by Jo Berry with Pat Magee and many other people who are working towards peace in the world.
Guests included ex British soldiers who were in Northern Ireland at the time, ex combatants from both sides in the Palestine/Israeli conflict, ex gang members and many others.
It was a truly wonderful day hearing people’s personal stories of courage in moving away from demonisation of their enemies to seeing them as human beings.
Unfortunately your headline misses this point and only whips up grief and hatred in people who suffered here, or who want to find outlets for their anger.
The reconciliation of sides who have been at war is a very sensitive process that is undermined by this sort of headline.
It is so sad that the media prefers to shock and sell papers than to take a part in the journey towards peace.
