TELEVISION star Ray Quinn performed at the launch party for Brighton’s winter ice rink.

The actor and singer appeared last night at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink launch party.

The Dancing on Ice winner sang Got to Get You Into My Life as professional skater Iain George span around the rink.

The former X Factor finalist told The Argus the pavilion provided a “fantastic and beautiful” backdrop.

He said: “It’s really pretty.

“It’s great for children and families to get out and it will create great memories.”

The former star of the soap Brookside will be back in January to perform in Holiday on Ice at the Brighton Centre.

“I hadn’t been on the ice for months but I got over my nerves,” he said.

The rink opens to the public for the fifth year tomorrow.

The pop-up structure is bigger this year, allowing for up to 260 skaters at a time. Last night, guests were allowed on the rink and children got a chance to try the penguins that help them to balance on the ice.

Ice-skating tickets cost from £10 for adults and £7 for children under 12. The one-hour skate times run from 10am to 10.15pm daily.

There is no charge for spectators. The rink will be open until January 18.
