A band returned to the college where they met to share their experience with potential rock stars of tomorrow.

The Kooks dropped into BIMM Brighton, where they spoke to students about life in the music industry and answered questions.

The band took a break from its UK tour to make the appearance.

The original line-up met at BIMM in 2003 and went on to gather MTV Awards, BRIT nominations and number-one records.

The current line-up – Luke Pritchard, Hugh Harris, Peter Denton and Alexis Nunez – were quizzed by a packed room.

Singer Luke Pritchard said: “BIMM was really cool because of the freedom and meeting with other musicians.

“Putting a band together was encouraged both inside and outside of the college.”

Jon Stewart, senior academic lecturer at BIMM, said: “We've had some amazing guests at BIMM but I've never been more proud to interview The Kooks.

“There were great questions from the students and brilliant answers from the guys.”
