A 50,000-year-old creature has been given a new name.
The woolly mammoth has been christened Monty, despite being dead for centuries, shortly before his bones go on sale at an auction in Billingshurst.
Monty is expected to sell for up to £250,000 when he goes under the hammer on Wednesday, November 26.
Summers Place Auctions held a competition to find a name for the mammoth and the two winners will each be given a real mammoth tooth for their efforts.
