A WOMAN was attacked from behind in an afternoon assault.
The 39-year-old was walking outside Pashley Court in Surrey Street, Shoreham, at about 2pm when she was approached by a man.
Police officers were alerted to the woman in distress by concerned members of the public.
The victim describes the man as white and about 6ft tall.
The incident happened on October 27, though Sussex Police only released details today, having completed enquiries locally.
Detective Inspector Andrew Westwood, of Worthing CID, said: “This was obviously an alarming incident and we are doing all we can to support the victim as we investigate.”
