ONE of the ten most-wanted burglary suspects across the south east has been arrested.
Max Nevin, 22, was arrested in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, after his name and photograph were published by Sussex, Surrey, Kent and Thames Valley Police as part a search for several men they believe could be responsible for dozens of break-ins across the region.
Nevin, of no fixed address, was arrested at 10pm yesterday at Robertsbridge Station after calling police to tell them where he was.
He has now been charged with conspiracy to burgle a home in Witherenden Hill, Burwash Common, assaulting a police officer and failing to answer bail.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian Williams, of Sussex Police, said: "Nevin contacted us as a direct result of the publicity about the men that we and the other three forces wanted to speak to about burglaries."
Sussex Police launched Operation Magpie to tackle burglary across the county.
Residents are being asked to report anyone acting suspiciously in their area.
