A 160,000 hectare national park has gone missing - from Google maps.

The South Downs National Park has gone missing from Google maps and authority staff say they have had no joy in getting the internet giant to reinsert it.

The park authority said that the new South Downs Centre for visitors was added to Google maps when it opened this spring.

But staff think that at some point since someone has marked the National Park as a duplicate and Google then removed the park boundaries from the map.

Park authority staff said they have been getting messages from people asking why they can’t find the park on Google maps.
