TRAVELLER caravans have pitched up on a football club’s car park.
Between ten and 15 caravans are pitched in Falmer on a space leased by Brighton And Hove Albion as an overflow car park from Brighton and Hove City Council.
The arrangement means it is private land and not a council issue.
Sussex Police understands the club has brought in bailiffs to make the travellers to leave the site.
A police spokesman said the force was not involved in the arrangements but was on hand if needed.
A spokesman for Brighton and Hove Albion said the club did not anticipate the encampment having an impact on the next home game, which takes place on November 29 against Fulham.
