SPARE a thought for Worthing paramedic Chris Williams who will be spending Christmas Day – his birthday – away from his family this year.
He has well and truly embraced the Christmas spirit of thinking of others by heading to Africa to help with the ebola crisis.
It is a sacrifice for him and his family but Mr Williams was determined to do his bit when he learned about the scale of the crisis and how he could do his bit to help.
Despite the risk of developing the illness himself, he has been moved to take practical action and use his medical experience to make a difference.
For him it will mean spending a few weeks away from home, but for others it could end up being the difference between life and death. His actions, and those other medical professionals who have travelled with him, are quite amazing.
