Staff donated clothes, food and gifts to the homeless for Christmas.

Employees at the Brighton contact centre of Domestic and General gave 12 bags of clothes, hats, gloves, warm jumpers and new items such as underwear to St Anne’s Day Centre, in St James’s Street.

The much-needed items will be given to the homeless and less privileged to help them keep warm during the cold winter months.

The staff also wore their best Christmas jumpers to work as part of Christmas Jumper Day, a national charity initiative.

Employee Lawrence Quinn, who volunteers at the day centre, said: “This time of year is particularly hard for those living on the streets, not only does the temperature drop, it’s also emotional as Christmas is a time typically spent with loved ones.

“I’m really overwhelmed at the generosity of everyone at Domestic and General.”

Staff also gave £300 in cash which will be put towards cooked meals for those visiting St Anne’s over the Christmas period.
