School children have been getting into the festive spirit by thinking of others less fortunate than themselves.
Dozens of brightly decorated presents have been collected by St Bernadette’s Primary School in Preston Road, Brighton, in aid of The Argus Appeal.
The appeal supports good causes across Sussex and every Christmas distributes presents for young people in need.
The idea for donating the presents came from Year 6’s social justice committee, which chooses a charity to support each Christmas.
A school spokeswoman said: “We put a note in our newsletter asking for donations and parents sent in the presents. It was good to see so many gathered under the tree.”
