Another five motorists have been charged with drink-driving after they were arrested as part of Sussex Police's Christmas crackdown.

The force is naming those charged – but not yet convicted - under Operation Dragonfly.

Timothy Woods, 56, of Harbour Way, Shoreham, was arrested at 8pm on December 22 after officers stopped his car in Manor Hall Road, Southwick.

He was charged with drink-driving and bailed to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on February 18.

Peter Watters, 26, was arrested at 10.45pm on December 22 after a car was found crashed into a hedge on the A2300 in Hickstead.

Watters, of Muddleswood Road, Newtimber, was charged with drink-driving, driving without a licence and driving a vehicle without an MOT.

He bailed to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on January 14.

Andrew Dunstan, 48, was arrested at 12.30pm on December 23 after a three-car crash in Crawley Road, Horsham.

Dunstan, of Beech Road, Horsham, was charged with drink-driving and remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on December 23.

Jonathan Pringle, 41, was arrested at 12.20pm on December 23 after a two-car crash on the forecourt of a petrol station in Bell Farm Road, Uckfield.

Pringle, of The Street, Framfield, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Hastings Magistrates' Court on February 11.

Gordon Parham, 66, was arrested at 4pm on December 23 after officers saw him driving with a faulty light in Thornham Lane, Emsworth.

Parham, of High Street, Emsworth, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court on January 6.

A total of 86 motorists have so far been charged with offences after they were arrested this month in Sussex's drink and drug-driving crackdown.

Roads policing unit officers are on dedicated patrols looking for offenders and teams will also respond to tip-offs from members of the public.
