The decision to replace Labour councillor Juliet McCaffery on Brighton and Hove City Council's children, families and schools committee because it was clear she was not going to support the Labour administration's proposals on secondary schools admissions is a clear example of how Labour will do anything, even to a loyal supporter, to get its policies into place.
If this is how Labour operates when it is a minority administration, imagine how it would behave if it was back in overall control.
Councillor Brian Oxley,
Conservative opposition leader,
Brighton and Hove City Council,
(Westbourne Ward)
