Two fashion graduates who make designer clothing out of recycled materials are £15,000 richer today after winning a national business award.
Phoebe Emerson and Nin Castle, who studied at the University of Brighton, beat five other start-up businesses to scoop the Trefor Campbell Award.
Phoebe, 24, and Nin, 25, who run Goodone Clothing, make ethical clothing out of recycled, organic or Fair Trade fabrics and sell them through trendy boutiques.
Their Brighton stockists include Wardrobe in Kensington Gardens, Jello in Gardner Street and Laundrette in Grand Parade. They also sell online at www.goodone.co.uk.
The award is run by the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce.
Nin said: "To have £15,000 to invest is incredible. We are considering spending the money on equipment, staff and marketing to drive our business forward."
