Your article about Laurie Shaw's eviction from Southlands Hospital's rehabilitation centre suggests it is having an "annual spring clean"
(The Argus, January 30).
My father is a patient there with Guillian Barrie Syndrome - a condition which has left him with little or no use of his arms or legs.
He will get better given the necessary care and physiotherapy but this may take a long time.
However, like Mr Shaw, he has also been given his marching orders. We were told "it will be in his best interest to be in a care home with nursing".
The consultant's colleague suggested he would be better off out of hospital, eliminating the possibility of contracting MRSA or some other superbug.
We are aware of at least two other patients the authorities there wish to remove, one of whom would find it impossible to live at home.
One wonders whether this "annual spring clean" has anything to do with the finances of the South Downs Health NHS Trust?
