For some months now I have been receiving unwanted mail. At first it was thrown into the rubbish bin but it is now returned to every sender.
However, I have noticed one intriguing detail - there is a five-digit number, among others, on each address label and today I was startled to realise it is the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) number on my last licence application.
Is it legal for the DVLA or a Government department to hand out or sell personal information, because that is exactly what seems to be happening here as I have never had so much junk mail. I hope all this paper comes from sustainable forests.
How do I have my personal details erased from such junk mail lists?
