A bus stop bagsnatcher dropped a loaf of bread as he was chased from the scene.
A 74-year-old woman was waiting for a bus at Marina, St Leonards, when a man spoke to her and said that he'd been waiting for a bus to the Conquest Hospital for 30 minutes.
They did not continue the conversation, but shortly afterwards the man grabbed hold of the shoulder strap of the bag, pulled it from her and ran off with it.
He was pursued by a member of the public, dropping a loaf of bread as he fled.
The incident happened just after 4pm on Sunday, January 18.
