A patriotic hospital porter is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame promoting Brighton as a great English holiday destination.
Rob Melville, 60, from Worthing, was spotted at a scooter event and was asked to attend a TV casting session with his friend and fellow Mod Adrian Tincknell.
The producers loved their dapper look and asked them to feature in VisitEngland’s new advert, raising the profile of English destinations in the year of the Rugby World Cup.
They were subsequently filmed on Brighton seafront sat on classic scooters.
Mr Melville, who has worked at Worthing Hospital for 20 years, said: “It was just unbelievable, very surreal, but an excellent experience. “When I saw the advert for the first time I was so proud – I just thought ‘wow’ that looks amazing.”
The advert showcases the variety of scenery on offer in England to encourage Brits to explore destinations on their own doorstep. Brighton, a Rugby World Cup match venue and host city, features alongside other English holiday destinations.
