The sister of a man whose bones were found in a lake has begged "who killed my brother?"

Sussex Police identified two human bones found by fishermen in the lake off  Parish Lane in Pease Pottage last week as belonging to 42-year-old Jean Dominique Leveque who went missing last summer.

Despite an extensive search of the lake only an upper left hip bone and a lower left leg bone have been found.

Mr Leveque’s sister devastated sister Marie France is desperate to know where the rest of his body is and how he died.

She said: “They found only small parts of your body at Pease Pottage last Friday.Where are the rest? Who killed you my bro? Too many questions are killing me now.

“I knew it was you that Friday

"I was praying God to know where you are, alive or dead. I got my answer now.

“I haven't felt such pain before.

“Now my next demand in prayers to you God is to give me justice.

“Over nine months you were missing, I was in hope in finding you alive someday, somewhere, but when I got visit of the police officer, I knew you were gone forever before he began to talk.”

However, Sussex Police said that they did not believe Jean had been killed.

Detective Inspector Mark Cullimore said; "This is a very sad time for Jean's family, who have been desperate for news of him and have supported our own enquiries throughout the past nine months.

"We searched the area last weekend after the bones were found but no further remains were found. The death is being treated as unexplained, and there is no evidence to suggest it is suspicious. The facts will be reported to the coroner."

Jean, originally from Mauritius, moved to Crawley in 2008.

Jean’s friends and family in Crawley and Mauritius paid their respects on Facebook.
