Everyone is feeling the squeeze as the council makes it cuts to the budget – even the elderly.
As the Older People’s Council potentially faces the chop and tough budget decisions draw ever closer, it is time to reflect.
It seems like no one is safe as a service that provides such an important voice for the thousands of older people in the city could be canned.
But despite people across the city speaking up to oppose the cuts it looks like there is no choice as the £100 million budget gap must be bridged.
The cuts will not be painless but only time will tell what is eventually slashed as final decisions are made later this month.
