A WOMAN attacked two Goths with her handbag.

Police say the two victims, a man and a woman, were wearing Goth-style clothing when they were confronted by the woman near the traffic lights at the junction of Castle Square and Old Steine in Brighton.

The attack happened at about 3am on January 4 but police have only just released this appeal.

Detective Constable Leianne Blampied said: "This has been reported to us by a third party so we do not know who the victims were or whether they were injured or not. They did not report it to police."

It is believed that the woman, who appeared to be in her late teens or early 20s, stepped into the road several times while shouting abuse and hitting the couple with her bag.

This prompted car drivers to honk their horns at her to get out of the way.

DC Blampied added: "We need to speak to any of the people involved and any motorists who may have seen the woman going into the road during the argument.

"If you saw or heard anything at all, please contact us."
