SPECTACULAR starlings were spotting swooping and sweeping in one of the “best displays in years”.
This evening award-winning Argus photographer Simon Dack turned his camera seaward towards the Palace Pier as he captured the tiny birds' show on film.
The starling murmurations can involve hundreds of thousands of the birds gathering noisily together at dusk before performing an extraordinary wheeling and swooping in unison.
At this time of year the starling numbers are boosted by migrating arrivals from continental Europe to spend the winter months here.
Brighton Seafront is famed a site to view the starlings in action.
Mr Dack said it was one of the “best displays” he had seen for about five years.
