SUSSEX girl Kim Sears and tennis ace Andy Murray have set a date to tie the knot.

Kim Sears, the Lewes-born artist, will be tying the knot with Scottish sportsman Andy Murray at the five-star Cromlix House Hotel near his home town Dunblane in Scotland on April 11.

The Wimbledon champion bought the venue in 2013, which has its own chapel, for £1.8 million.

It opened last year after a refurbishment and the hotel was the venue for his brother Jamie’s wedding in 2010.

Mr Murray and Ms Sears got engaged in November after being together for nine years.

The 27-year-old Scot, who won the Wimbledon title in 2013, joked during an on-court interview at the recent Australian Open that he might wear a kilt with no underwear at their wedding.

And Miss Sears also made headlines at the Australian Open after repeatedly swearing during Murray’s semi-final with Tomas Berdych.

She attended Sunday’s final, which Murray lost, wearing a “Parental Advisory: Explicit Content” T-shirt.

Miss Sears, also 27, is a regular presence at Murray’s matches and is the daughter of former Lawn Tennis Association head of women’s tennis Nigel Sears.

She was once described by future mother-in-law Judy Murray as “the best thing to happen to Andy”.
