Family escapes dishwasher fire in their home
A FAMILY escaped from their home after their dishwasher caught fire.
A fire broke out at the property in Gibbon Road, Newhaven, at 11.40pm last night.
The family within the property were woken up by their smoke detector and managed to escape the fire which was confined to the kitchen.
Crews from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.
The ambulance service treated one man for smoke inhalation at the scene.
